Yes, it's wonderful night for pie!
Basically, I was up all night last week finishing storyboards. Mine, fortunately, began with a grandma bear cooking her pies and sitting them out on the window sill. A giant bear comes by and snatches the pies. The traditional gag of old woman putting pies out, other bear grabs and eats the pies. A big battle of brains occurs. Grandma bear throwing her pies, big bear enjoying them as they come. Grandma bear clueless, big bear taunting her every move. UNTIL, a huge explosion of pies and big bear ends up dead and grandma with nothing left...just like the lovely children stories we use to read when we were young. Anyway I FINALLY accomplished the storyboarding assignment. My eyes were bleeding pies and my brain was full of custard. I needed a break, so I ran to the television. AND WHAT DO I SEE?!
Family Guy's famous Disney epsiode. Out of all the things they could of sung about-out of all the eleborate schemes and infinite random possibilities they pull each week-what do they sing about?!
PIES! MORE PIES! AHHHHHHHH!
And not just any pie, a wonderful day of pie!
I guess this is no coincidence. I was meant to eat and draw pie for the rest of my life. My stomach agrees with prt of that statement. I just had to laugh, and keep watching.

I recently saw Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. At first it was the kind of movie that I thought would be "just alright". Turns out it was more than that, it was incredibly "AWSOME"! I could not stop laughing in my seat. The character development was great, no loop-holes, every character had a purpose on screen. The idea itself, was ingenius. This movie had so much to work with and the creators did it all. The artists sure deserve a lot of credit since they had to re-create thousands of food groups. "One pear rendered, 300 more to go". Even I shiver at the thought. Also, I was full of glee at the end credits when I noticed that most of the voice actors came from SNL's cast. It was truly the cherry on top of a fantastic film;)and for those who are still skeptic about seeing it, don't be, go and enjoy!

Well it's been awhile since I've updated this thing. I KNOW, I KNOW, I'm doing the best I can. This blog will be under construction for now until I figure out what next to do with it. I do have some new ideas in mind some hold on to your...pencils. The creativity is coming.

I just witnessed something new yesturday called BLIZZCON 2009. It was one of our friends birthday, so me and few friends ordered it online to watch. This particular day was hard for me to roll out of bed because I was not pumped for what may lie ahead. Endless discussions of what will change in World of Warcraft, interviews with gamers and basically talks of nothing...so I thought. Surprisingly, I was not a huge gamer till I saw this. Blizzard did something quite unique. They finally showed the viewers the process of how their games are created. Blizzard brought you into their studio walls to show how each game is animated (a million steps later), and how many asians work for them. ;)
Well not so many. Anyway, I realized how much EXTREME thought goes into each game. If one part of the storyboard doesn't work, they throw out the whole thing. If after 6 months the characters don't seem to have any sort of life to them, they're scratched. One game that had caught my attention is Starcraft (yes boo me now). It's been out for awhile but I never took on a huge interest to it till now. To me, it looked like to OMEGA of games. Pretty big statement, but wow! Thats it.
The other reason why my eyes couldn't stare away from Blizzcon is all the effort and hard work people put in just to wear their favorite gaming character all day at the event. Yes, a costume contest, followed by a sound-alike and dance contest. Both were....interesting. I know now that nerds like me can't dance and probably never should, haha. (If you saw it you would hopefully agree). Otherwise, fun day and it bursted my imagination bubble.

I GOT IT!!
It was another night of endless sleep, endless thoughts and endless dreaming. I suddenly awoke wanting to sculpt something. I love using my hands so this idea was making me more ancious by the minute. Off I ran to my boyfriends house because the family is re-inventing their basement at the moment. Theres nothing but junk around. I found wire, plaster, wood and even a nail! (Yes, just one. But thats all I needed). IT'S PERFECT! Now all that may be required was sculpty. So off I ran, again, to the store to grab what is called "Sculpt-It" aka one of the best sculpting materials I know of.
So heres my progess. I started with wire, plastercine for extra support, and then a plaster mold. I dunno how this process is suppose to work, kinda winging it, but hopefully it will not fall apart. So far, so good. Anyway I still have yet to create to inital idea on top of the supported mold. Give me some time and I will assure after tons of Bruce Willis movies, epsiodes of Futurama, a few Pepsi's (because Red Bull does not give you wings only a well deserved headache), and painting this will look like something even better.
Anyway I thought the two pictures near the bottom made my piece look like an ancient mummy, who is still pondering whether to wake from the dead or not.

So I recently started watching the animated series Gargoyles, again. I watched it as a teen and then suddenly forgot about it. I forgot how amazing the storyline was. I love the idea of mythical looking creature that can fly. Their names are also somewhat appealing....haha I liked how the animators named the pet beast-dog one of the most historical landmarks of we know today, "The Bronx". I also found out that most of the voices in this are those men from the earlier star trek series. AND it was made by Disney. I would have never known since this is so different from a dying deer in bambi, or a little mermaid. You don't see any mouse ears in this one either. The Gargoyles is a pretty brutal show, a lot of people die early on (cough) *gargoyle family*
anyway watch it!
